Call For Papers Presentation

We are excited to announce the partnership of Network of Champions and CHECS.  This partnership will combine two technology conferences and focus on K-20 members throughout New Mexico. 

This year’s conference brings together technology leaders and support professionals from both higher education and K-12 along with educational technology vendors to provide new opportunities professional development and human networking.  This year, the conference will have a theme of “Unifying K-20 with Technology” and will focus on the following five tracks:

Administrative Applications

  1. Banner
  2. Reporting support
  3. Data warehouses
  4. Portals, web, email support
  5. Support training of end users
  6. Admin Help desk
  7. Tech programs: e.g. Intel Teach Future
  8. E-Rate
  9. ADA Technologies
  10. Tech support of Student tracking & testing (e.g. No Child Left Behind)
  11. ID/Security end-user support

Academic Support

  1. Support/Training for faculty, students, teachers
  2. RETA, Laptop initiative, etc.
  3. Certification:  DE instructor
  4. LMS (WebCT)
  5. Web/video conf
  6. Classroom baseline
  7. DE & hybrid design and support
  8. Tech & Pedagogy

NM TIE would like to invite you to submit a presentation, panel, or tutorial that focuses on any of the above track sessions.  Show your IT stuff, how you do IT, how to do IT, how IT affects you or discuss IT. Each year we hear that we need more “birds-of-a-feather” sessions. To make this happen, we need you to volunteer to facilitate such a session.

 

Share your ideas and initiatives at your institution regarding: Oracle, Banner, Banner Reporting Tools, Luminis, Microsoft, WebCT, Enterprise Applications, Data Warehouse, Disaster Recovery, Networking, Wireless Networks, Security, Linux, Video/Data/Voice over IP, Library Automation, Distance Education, Internet2, Staff Retention, Student Portals or any other application of technology on your campus.

Submit an abstract of your presentation by providing the title, summary, presenter name, and special need requirements by e-mail on or before August 31, 2006, to tiepapers@checs.net.   For each presentation NM TIE will provide a laptop with internet access and a projector.  Each presentation will be limited to 45 minutes. 

Conference attendees vote on the best presentation and all submitted presentations are published at www.checs.net/checs_06/.
